Terwilliger Place
Seven-Story, 160-Unit Affordable Community with Amenities and Retail
Terwilliger Place is a seven-story mixed-use apartment community with 160 affordable units, amenities, and office space for American Legion, a veterans organization. Developed by the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing, the community falls under standards set by the Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA) as it is partially funded by the VHDA and consists of 100 percent affordable apartment units. The project is five stories of wood framing over a two-story concrete podium with metal studs and features a complex civil package and extensive site utilities, requiring close coordination with utility service providers and Arlington County. Its amenities include bike storage, laundry facilities, a community room, a fitness center, a business center, meeting rooms, and one level of below-grade parking.
