Six-Story, 274-Unit Affordable EarthCraft Gold Community with Retail

Ovation at Arrowbrook is a six-story mixed-use apartment community located near the future Innovation Center Silver Line Metro Station and the Center for Innovative Technology in Herndon, VA. This project consists of 38,000 square feet of community retail and 274 affordable apartments, including 55 three-bedroom units and 15 handicap-accessible units. The community's 38,000 square feet of amenity space houses a fitness center, business center, community rooms, a private interior courtyard, and a precast parking garage. Residents of Ovation can enjoy easy access to the greater Arrowbrook Centre development playgrounds, athletic fields, an outdoor entertainment pavilion, and a dog park.

Incorporated quality amenity and unit finishes. Mitigated mold challenges created by the gypcrete application and insufficient ventilation and implemented a cost-effective solution. Improved and updated our quality control procedures for future projects. Navigated relationships with the Virginia Housing Authority and EarthCraft. Gained knowledge surrounding best practices in developing an affordable housing project and utilizing value engineering.

Building Green at Ovation at Arrowbrook
Ovation at Arrowbrook achieved an EarthCraft Gold green building designation. EarthCraft homes save a projected 30 percent on energy bills relative to comparable buildings that use standard construction methods. This project promotes walkability due to its proximity to nearby retail, recreation centers, and parks. Ovation at Arrowbrook is located less than a mile from the Innovation Metro Station, promoting alternate and sustainable methods of transportation.
