South Alex

South Alex is a 400-unit mixed-use apartment community comprised of two five-story buildings that wrap around a parking garage. The podium-style project features a full amenity package plus first-floor retail space, including an ALDI supermarket. South Alex's one- and two- bedroom units feature high-end finishes such as quartz countertops and EnergyStar® appliances. The project's location next to a dry cleaner posed unique challenges; it required underpinning and vibration monitoring to maintain the facade's structural support while CBG demolished the remaining wall of a previously existing building and poured new building footings.
