Building Green at Del Ray Central
Del Ray Central promotes pedestrian travel with its location within walking distance of Del Ray's Business District and Nicholas A. Colasanto Recreational Park. The community also directly participated in urban and brownfield redevelopment and the team tackled the daunting task of rehabilitating and developing a contaminated site. Del Ray Central features erosion and sedimentation controls, Energy Star® appliances, water efficient fixtures and innovative wastewater technologies, carbon dioxide monitoring, heating, cooling and building envelopes designed to exceed thermal comfort requirements, energy efficient lighting, windows, and doors, EnergyStar qualified roofing materials, and the use of low-VOC paints, sealants, and carpet.
