The subject of New York Times bestseller "Fearless", Navy SEAL Chief Adam Brown was killed in Afghanistan on March 2010 in a heroic effort to save his fellow soldiers. Adam's parents traveled from Arkansas to attend the tournament in their son's honor.

On behalf of the Adam Brown Legacy Fund, we would like to thank CRC CARES for their very generous donation," said Larry and Janice Brown. "These funds will go toward helping those in our community who are in need. Adam had a heart for helping others. Thank you for helping us keep his legacy alive."

CARES also presented a donation to the SEAL-NSW Family Foundation, another military nonprofit providing special programs and direct support to Naval Special Warfare (NSW) families.

The SEAL-NSW Family Foundation is honored to be the recipient of this generous donation from CRC CARES," said William Fenick, CAPT, USN (Ret), and executive director of SEAL-NSW Family Foundation. "It will help ensure our programs continue to meet the needs of today's Navy SEAL families."

Team River Runner, an all-volunteer organization that provides hope and healing to disabled and wounded veterans through adaptive paddling programs, was also a beneficiary of this year's tournament.

"Team River Runner San Diego is extremely grateful for the donation CRC CARES made to us," said Dale Osborn, coordinator of Team River Runner San Diego. "Your CARES donation will not only help us support our monthly therapeutic paddles, but is a big step toward enabling us to sponsor veteran training so they can lead our program in the future."

Finally, CRC CARES presented a charitable donation to the Widows and Orphans Fund of the San Diego Police Officers Association (SDPOA).

"The members of the San Diego Police Officers Association are forever grateful to CRC CARES for their support of local law enforcement and our families," said Brian Marvel, president of the SDPOA. "It has been an incredibly difficult year for law enforcement across the county and here at home in San Diego. The CARES Open golf tournament helped to ensure that we are ready to support our officers in their greatest time of need."

Through the amazing generosity of industry partners, CRC CARES has raised over $3.3 million to date in San Diego alone. More than 100 charities throughout the southern California region have benefited from the tournament funds since the inaugural event in 2005.

"We are grateful for the tremendous support of our industry partners, which allows us to make year-round donations to deserving charities," said Jim Forburger, senior vice president of CBG. "Having the CARES Open on Veterans Day makes the event even more special, as we honor and celebrate all those who have served and continue to serve."

Proceeds from this year's event were made possible by 78 corporate sponsors, many of whom participate annually. On both evenings of the event, the tournament included a dinner and awards reception at the Del Lago Ballroom of Maderas Golf Club. Reception highlights included a raffle, the announcement of tournament winners, and a formal donation presentation to the charitable recipients.
