Clark Realty Capital Hosts Boy Scouts for Tour of Manassas Park’s City Center Site

MANASSAS PARK, Va. — On Tuesday, May 20, 2008, Clark Realty Capital employees treated Boy Scout Troop 1185 with an all-access tour of their City Center construction site in the heart of Manassas Park's downtown area. The hard hat tour included a behind-the-scenes look at the recently topped-out mixed-use town center development and stressed the importance of teamwork on a construction site.

"Clark's guided tour of the site really meant a lot to our troops," commented Richard Hill, scoutmaster of Troop 1185. "The boys have a new found respect for the development process and what it takes to complete projects like this."

Will Skinner, Clark Realty Capital's City Center project manager, led the tour of various areas of the construction site and provided a brief overview of the development process. He also taught the Boy Scouts about what the "topping out" milestone means to a construction project.

The City Center site, developed by Clark Realty Capital, is a master-planned development project adjacent to the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) station in Manassas Park, Va.

The project, scheduled for completion in April 2009, is a mixed-use town center with 274 residential units, 45,000 square feet of retail, and 25,000 square feet of flex retail/residential space. City Center is designed to be the focal point of Manassas Park, calling for a vibrant mix of rental apartments and integrated retail.

The project will incorporate modern styles for an updated town center look, with facades that combine different architectural materials and elements to create an urban feel and encourage pedestrian activity.
