Clark Realty Capital Employees Brighten Arlington Pediatric Center

Clark CARES Sponsors Volunteer Event at Local Healthcare Facility
August 27, 2008

ARLINGTON, Va. — Last Thursday, 18 development associates from Clark Realty Capital (CRC) spent the day re-painting an office for Arlington Pediatric Center (APC), a nonprofit medical facility offering healthcare services to children of low income families in Arlington County. CRC volunteers brightened the office of APC's newest social worker with supplies funded by Clark CARES, a public charity that provides grants to deserving nonprofit organizations like APC.

"APC would not be in a position to create this space for our new counselor without Clark's willingness to invest in these materials and to send in their volunteers," said Lesley Parker, development director at APC. "The timing couldn't be better."

To create a cheerful environment for the children who visit the center, CRC volunteers painted a colorful mural using a template purchased from The Foundation for Hospital Art, a nonprofit organization that strives to bring comfort to patients by brightening medical environments with creative artwork. The volunteers also added a fresh coat of paint to the entire office.

"Clark CARES wanted to provide a reassuring atmosphere for the young patients who visit the Arlington Pediatric Center," said Christina DeGroote of Clark CARES. "We were thrilled to see the enthusiasm CRC employees had for giving back to the local community. The office looks great."
