Employees Spend the Day Transforming County Park
October 3, 2008

ARLINGTON, Va. — Yesterday, several employees of Clark Realty Capital (CRC) and Clark Builders Group (CBG) dedicated their workday to revamping the local neighborhood. The group spent the day painting tables and benches at Bon Air and Bluemont Parks, both of which are located just one mile from Clark's corporate headquarters.

"Clark has participated in numerous charitable events, so this time, I sought out an Arlington-specific volunteer opportunity," said Becky Fairchild, recruiting and training coordinator at Clark Builders Group. "Our employees really wanted to give back to the community we work in."

CBG sponsored the volunteer event, the efforts of which directly support the Arlington Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources. Thanks to a generous donation by one of Clark's subcontractors, Duron Paints & Wallcoverings, the group incurred no cost for supplies, which included numerous brushes and cans of forest green paint.

"The help is desperately needed," said Lois Barb, team leader for Park Service Area Two. "We suffered a great deal of damage from Hurricane Hanna, and this will help to make things look good in the parks. It's nice that we can have the group be here and help out."

Two of Arlington County's nearly 150 parks, Bon Air and Bluemont are situated on a total of about 100 acres. Over the course of the day, the Clark group primed and painted 36 tables in Bon Air Park and 40 tables in Bluemont Park.
