Clark Realty Builders Breaks Ground on Archstone Van Dorn
ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Clark Realty Builders (CRB)* recently broke ground on Archstone Van Dorn, a 285-unit apartment community strategically located just outside the Capital Beltway on South Van Dorn Street in Alexandria. Archstone Van Dorn is CRB's fourth construction undertaking for Archstone Communities, a national Real Estate Investment Trust. Including developments under construction, Clark Realty Builders has now worked with Archstone on more than 1,300 rental homes in Virginia and Maryland.

Archstone Van Dorn's 285 apartments are divided between two groups of four buildings each. Each three to four story building group is connected by covered breezeways or corridors and unified by exceptionally landscaped formal courtyards. The garden-style buildings will feature an attractive stone and vinyl siding exterior and gable roofs with decorative cupolas.
Inside, residents will enjoy spaciously designed kitchens, balconies or patios with every unit, and optional fireplaces. A variety of floor plans are also being offered, including one bed/one bath, two beds/two baths with optional lofts, and three beds/two baths. In addition, future residents will have two covered parking options, including attached garages integral to the apartment buildings or detached garages located throughout the community.
This superior Class A gated community is partially surrounded by a natural wooded conservation area and provides many recreational amenities. Residents will enjoy a large clubhouse with a pool and cardio theater fitness center, tot lots, and adjoining soccer fields.

The wood-frame apartment homes were designed by Niles Bolton Associates of Alexandria, Va. The project's civil engineering duties are being performed by Bowman Consulting Group; MEP Engineering is by Schwartz Engineering; and landscape design is by Land Design Inc.
