Clark CARES Sponsors Second Annual Southeast Golf Tournament
MIDLAND, Ga. — On September 11, Clark Realty Capital and Clark Builders Group hosted the second annual Southeast Clark CARES Open. The golf tournament, which welcomed a record 100 golfers this year, benefits the Clark CARES Foundation, a public charity that promotes volunteerism and provides direct aid to deserving non-profit organizations. Participation in the tournament increased this year, with more than 40 corporate sponsors donating a total of $82,000 to the foundation.

"This year's tournament brought together many local companies in the construction industry," said Shane McCullough, operations manager of Trussway, the 2009 Southeast Tournament Title Sponsor. "We all have an interest in supporting the military community, and appreciate Clark CARES efforts to organize such a beneficial and enjoyable event."
In a departure from last year, proceeds of the 2009 Southeast Clark CARES Open will fund a Clark CARES-sponsored volunteer construction project. This project, which is currently in the planning phase, will serve as an amenity to benefit the local community. Specific plans for the project will be unveiled once details are finalized.
"We are very appreciative for the outpouring of support for this event," said Phil Cowley, development executive at Clark Realty Capital. "In a time when many companies are cutting back, our generous sponsors have allowed us to continue to make a positive impact in the community."
The Clark CARES Open is held in four locations across the United States; collectively, the events have raised more than $830,000 for charitable causes since their establishment four years ago. After this year's tournament, players and sponsors enjoyed a lunch reception and raffle drawing held in the Bull Creek Golf Course Pavilion.
