Clark CARES Donates $50,000 in Support of San Diego Fire Relief Efforts
SAN DIEGO — At a luncheon last week, the Clark CARES Foundation donated $50,000 to The San Diego Foundation's After-The-Fires Fund and the Rancho Bernardo Fire Station 33 Renovation. The donation was made possible through proceeds from the 2007 Clark CARES Open charity golf tournament held last October. Clark CARES, a non-profit entity established by local development and construction firm Clark Realty, has distributed $170,000 from funds raised at the tournament.

"We are grateful for this generous contribution. It is civic-minded corporations like Clark that make the difference in our recovery efforts," stated Bob Kelly, president and CEO of The San Diego Foundation. "With this contribution, we are able to continue our focus and grant-making efforts in the areas of need-housing, health and human services, community building, the environment, and preparedness."
The luncheon, hosted by Clark Realty and Clark Construction Group, also served to honor sponsors of the 2007 Clark CARES Open. Companies recognized for their vital role in the event included A.O. Reed & Company, Aon Construction Services Group, Basile Construction, Fairco Developer Landscape Services, KHS&S Contractors, Martin Corporation, Morley Construction, Pacific Southwest Structures, Paradise Electric, Park West Landscape, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, Rick Engineering Company, and SSW Mechanical Construction.

"We are humbled by the generosity displayed by our consulting and subcontracting partners year after year. Together we are able to make a difference in the communities where we live and work."
Through its annual charity golf tournaments started in 2005, Clark has raised over $650,000 for local charitable organizations. Past beneficiaries include ACE Mentor Program, Armed Services YMCA, Century Club, Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, Operation Homefront, Rady Children's Hospital, Rebuilding Together, and the YWCA of San Diego County. Funds were also donated to the IBS Rwanda Village in Africa to help children and families affected by HIV/AIDS and poverty.
