MANASSAS PARK, Va.—This afternoon, Clark Builders Group (CBG) welcomed over 40 members of the Fire and Rescue Departments from the City of Manassas Park, City of Manassas, and Prince William County to tour City Center, CBG's newest development in the heart of Manassas Park. The City Center development will form the core of a new, energetic downtown area and will be served by emergency crews from these departments.

"I would like to thank Clark Builders Group for their continued support and cooperation with the Fire and Rescue Department," said Todd Lupton, deputy fire chief of the City of Manassas Park Fire and Rescue Department. "Their cooperation and assistance enhances our ability to provide quality fire and rescue service to City Center and its surrounding community."

City Center is a mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly town center that encompasses more than 28 acres near City Hall and the Virginia Railway Express (VRE) Station. Working in partnership with the City of Manassas Park, Clark is nearing completion at City Center, which includes 45,000 square feet of retail, 274 residential units, and 25,000 square feet of flexible retail/residential space.

Due to the size of the development, CBG invited the firefighters from City Center's surrounding communities to familiarize themselves with the new project.

"CBG has a long track record of community participation," said Tom Anderson, contract executive at Clark Builders Group. "It is rewarding to know that lending these brave men and women our construction site will directly impact how future emergencies are mitigated and residents' lives are saved in the Manassas Park community."

After enjoying a barbeque lunch hosted by CBG, the firefighters toured the project site and studied building plans of the City Center development. Other fire and rescue training exercises will be conducted exclusively at City Center through Thursday, October 16.
