"This year's program truly represented the best in the homebuilding industry," said 2016 GALA Chair Laurie Matthews, owner of LM Marketing Group in Washington, DC. "The 2016 winners are so deserving of this recognition for their outstanding accomplishments across a broad array of disciplines in support of the continuously improving Washington, DC housing market."

Landmark College Park, a 267-unit mixed-use student housing community at the University of Maryland, achieved recognition in the Design and Architecture category. The nearly 350,000-square-foot community accommodates 800 students and offers amenities like a fitness room, yoga studio, media room, tanning salon, multiple study areas, and three outdoor courtyards.

The community's facade incorporates modern architectural design with masonry, metal and fiber cement panels, and aluminum windows. Latitude, a 12-story, mixed-use, luxury apartment community in Arlington, VA, achieved recognition in the Integrated Marketing Campaign category. CBG collaborated with local schools to beautify its construction walkway via a 64-foot-long collage depicting what fourth and fifth grade students from Barrett and Glebe Elementary do for fun in their neighborhood.

The CBG Building Company corporate website earned recognition in the Website category. Following company-wide rebranding in 2015, CBG redesigned its online presence to fit the new brand's modern aesthetic. Notable website features include an interactive map pinpointing project locations, a live-stream of CBG's Twitter account, and robust, high-quality photography of CBG's nationwide communities.

"We take pride in delivering our communities and initiatives to a high standard of excellence," said Keith Anderson, president at CBG. "It's an honor to be recognized by GALA and our industry peers for this commitment."

In addition to GALA honors, recent awards for CBG communities and initiatives include: MFE Project of the Year in the Mid-Rise Podium category for The Maxwell, a 163-unit mixed-use community in Arlington, VA; five Aurora Grand Awards honoring Virginia communities 10th Street Flats, The Parker, The Maxwell, and Notch 8; and ABC Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) Diamond Award for ongoing efforts in safety training and the development of quality safety programs.
