CBG Participates in Fundraiser for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA—CBG Building Company participated today in the 30th annual Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Real Estate Games at American University to raise funds for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. The JDRF Real Estate Games hosts real estate and construction professionals from across the Washington, D.C. area to compete in a variety of sports and puzzle games. This year, the event raised over $717,000, breaking last year's record by almost $200,000.

Embracing the competitive spirit of the games, CBG employees participated in several activities throughout the day-long event, including a 5k race, tennis tournaments, tug of war, puzzle events, and various other competitions. A proud sponsor of JDRF, CBG Building Company participated in the Real Estate Games through CBG Gives, the company's foundation dedicated to impacting and improving communities on a local, national, and global scale.
"It means so much to us at CBG to donate to JDRF and participate in the Real Estate Games this year," said Kathryn Alexander, human resources generalist at CBG. "We're proud CBG Gives can support important causes such as JDRF and their mission to cure type 1 diabetes."
In total, more than 3,000 participants and 130 companies attended this year's event. With the help of CBG and other area real estate and construction companies, the JDRF Real Estate Games has raised over ten million dollars since its inception. Given its success, JDRF hopes to hold similar events in six other major cities by 2021. The largest nonprofit supporter of T1D research, JDRF currently sponsors over $450 million of research in 17 countries.
