"We are thrilled to partner with CBG on the KU Central District Development Project," said Geoffrey Stricker, managing director with Edgemoor. "CBG has been very collaborative working with Edgemoor and the University of Kansas to create amenity-rich student housing and dining facilities."

In addition to housing and amenities, Central District will feature a 400-student commercial dining facility containing multiple kitchens and walk-in freezers. The dining facility will include provisions for a centralized distribution component, which will process and distribute food to other dining facilities on campus.

"We are excited to work with Edgemoor to expand our student housing portfolio," said Chris Hirst, senior vice president at CBG. "Central District will provide students with an inclusive on-campus living and dining experience."

Central District will feature a variety of sustainable elements, including continuous exterior insulation, TPO roofing, low-flow water fixtures, LED light fixtures, and energy-efficient appliances and windows. The community will employ Prescient technology, which utilizes pre-designed and constructed, steel building panels for a greener and more efficient building.

In addition to Central District, CBG's recent student housing portfolio includes the following: Landmark College Park, a 276-unit LEED Silver mixed-use community in College Park, Maryland; Uncommon Charlottesville, a 162-unit mixed-use community in Charlottesville, Virginia scheduled for completion fall 2016; Uncommon Tampa, a 161-unit multi-building community utilizing Prescient technology in Tampa, Florida scheduled for completion fall 2016; and Terrapin Row, a 418-unit mixed-use community in College Park on the University of Maryland's historic South Campus scheduled for completion fall 2017.
