The four-story community features hardi-plank "Italianate train station" architecture, garage and surface parking, and 5,000 square feet of retail. Residences feature private terraces or balconies, washer/dryers, and loft-style studios. Community amenities include a swimming pool, fitness center, party room, and lounge.

Building Green at Aventine Fort Totten
Aventine Fort Totten is adjacent to the National Park Service's Fort Totten Park, and is also ideally situated for mass transit due to its proximity to the Washington Metro Area Transit Authority (WMATA) transfer station and WMATA Metrobus lines. The team implemented numerous measures of sustainability throughout the community, including high efficiency heating and cooling systems, EnergyStar® appliances, energy-saving lighting, water conserving fixtures, a recycling center, air sealing of the building envelope, cementitous siding and trim, an aluminum storefront, energy-efficient windows and doors, and EnergyStar-qualified roofing systems. Dedication to environmental responsibility was also evident through the team's maintenance of extensive ongoing erosion control measures during construction to protect the Anacostia River watershed. Furthermore, the team refrained from installing an irrigation system and used water-saving landscaping to contribute to Fort Totten Station's water efficiency.
