HYATTSVILLE, Md. — The Northern Virginia Building Association (NVBA) and the Maryland-National Capital Building Industry Association (MNCBIA) recently presented Monument Awards for Excellence in Planning and Design to three Clark Builders Group projects, two of which were developed by Clark Realty Capital (CRC). "The Washington new homes market is one of the most competitive in the country," said Monument Awards chairman Larry Nordhauser. "The Monument Awards program is the most prestigious residential design competition in this market. Winning these awards translates into true value for the consumer."

The Woodlands at Fair Oaks, a 103-unit luxury senior living campus located in Fairfax County, Va., was honored as the premier Independent Living project. Designed to enrich the lives of its active residents, The Woodlands features beautiful, custom interior finishes and a 26,000-square-foot comprehensive amenity area with a full-service restaurant, indoor pool and spa, beauty salon, pharmacy, and more.

Fort Totten Station won the top award in the Garden-Style Rental category. Located adjacent to the Metro, this transit-oriented project was developed by CRC to meet the needs of young professionals in the DC area. The Clark team outfitted Fort Totten with luxury community amenities such as a swimming pool, fitness center, deluxe lounge with five HD TVs, and 5,000 square feet of retail.

Earning an Award of Merit for Residential Historic Renovation, Park Village in the Fort Belvoir Military Family Housing Community is a unique, craftsman-style neighborhood developed by CRC.

At Park Village, the project team restored two intricate, 1930's historic homes, while constructing 22 new, energy efficient homes in classic craftsman style to create a cohesive streetscape.

"We are thrilled to once again be recognized by this esteemed organization," said Glenn Ferguson, president of Clark Builders Group. "The awarded projects represent our commitment to quality and forward-thinking approach throughout the design and construction process."

The Monument Awards received over 140 entries this year. Awards applications, judged by a committee of over 40 volunteers, include a large display board that showcases the project with site and floor plans, photography, and a project statement. After reviewing entry materials, the Judging Committee traveled to each project to view the community and complete this highly competitive selection process.
