Ribbon Cutting Celebrates Dulles Station Community Park

CBG Commemorates Fairfax County Park Across from Station on Silver
July 22, 2017

HERNDON, Va.—CBG Building Company and community partners celebrated today the completion of Dulles Station Community Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. In conjunction with the soon-to-be-completed Station on Silver apartment community across the street, CBG completed the new Fairfax County park last month, transforming a formerly vacant lot into recreational facilities for local families.

"There's a lot of development going on out here in this part of the county, and as we develop, we want to make sure we're not just creating housing, but we're also creating communities" said Dranesville District Supervisor John Foust. "In order to do that, we have to focus on things like these types of urban parks."

Community members, Fairfax County Park Authority representatives, and Station on Silver project partners gathered this afternoon to dedicate the 2.6-acre park opening.

Fairfax County Park Authority officials made brief remarks, commemorating the park's use to come and subsequent impact on future generations. Attendees included Fairfax County Park Authority Acting Executive Director Sara Baldwin, Planning and Development Director Dave Bowden, Dranesville District Representative to the Park Authority Board Tim Hackman, residents and families, and other community children.

The park includes a playground, covered pavilion, large dog park, multipurpose sport court, game area, and fitness center, as well as benches and tables throughout the park.

"CBG Building Company is proud to construct a community-building center for residents of Fairfax County," said Keith Anderson, president of CBG. "Station on Silver and Dulles Station Community Park are fantastic additions to the surrounding area. It is a pleasure to build structures that promote healthy lifestyles and time spent outdoors."

Station on Silver, opening in September 2017, is CBG's fifth project with Woodfield Investments. Station on Silver will offer 400 units, including studio, one- and two-bedroom layouts.

Luxury amenities include a cyber cafe, fitness center, conference room, club room, above-ground parking garage, and group gathering areas. Units will feature quartz countertops and luxury vinyl tile flooring.
