September 26, 2003

SALISBURY, MD — Clark Realty Builders (CRB)*, Bethesda, Md., recently signed a partnership agreement with Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH) for the construction of Mill Pond Village apartments in Salisbury. The agreement is the first of its kind for a residential project.

Mill Pond Village Phase I

MOSH and CRB formed the partnership as part of an on-going effort to increase safety awareness and training and reduce accidents at construction sites. As part of the agreement, all subcontractors will receive mandatory orientation training, and all subcontractor supervisors will participate in Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) 10-hr training. MOSH has partnered with The Clark Construction Group, Inc., an affiliate of CRB, on multiple commercial projects, but this is the first such partnership on a multifamily project. CRB started construction on Phase II of Mill Pond Village in May 2003.

This phase adds an additional 120 new units to the existing 240 units constructed by CRB last year. Only five miles from Salisbury State University, the market-rate community offers one-, two-, and three-bedroom units in three-story, garden-style apartments. Interior amenities include washers/dryers, balconies, built-in microwaves, and ceiling fans. Residents have access to a tot lot, fitness center, jogging trail, tennis court, and community clubhouse with a pool and spa.

Situated between Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean on the Delmarva Peninsula, Salisbury is convenient to the Assateague National Wildlife Refuge, Ocean City and Delaware beaches, and numerous camping facilities.

Salisbury is home to The Shorebirds, a AAA farm team for the Baltimore Orioles, The Ward Brothers Waterfowl Museum, and the Salisbury Zoo. The wood-frame project is being constructed for Mill Pond Village LLC, under the supervision of Stanley Markofsky and Mark Ackerman. The community was designed by Cox Kliewer & Company and is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2004. Leasing of the new units began last month.
