WASHINGTON—On Thursday, The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) recognized Clark Builders Group for its exceptional work on three area projects. The Galaxy, The Enclave at Emerson, and The Residences at Hidden Creek took home Multifamily Pillars of the Industry Awards in their respective categories. "A wave of new multifamily communities helped bring the housing industry out of the recession, and this group of finalists exemplifies what's new and exciting in residential construction," said W. Dean Henry, CEO of Legacy Partners Residential and chairman of NAHB's Multifamily Leadership Board. "This year's finalists have gone above and beyond what residents need and desire from an apartment or condo in today's marketplace."

The Residences at Hidden Creek was named the winner for Best Rental Apartment Community (non-garden, 5 stories or less). The luxury community features 300 apartments, including 45 upgraded units and 45 affordable units to comply with Montgomery County's Moderately Priced Dwelling Unit (MPDU) zoning program. Homes include stainless steel and black GE EnergyStar appliances, premium kitchens with maple cabinetry, granite countertops, and wood tile flooring. The community features amenities such as a pool, a fitness center, a media room, an internet cafe, and conference rooms.

Constructed using green building techniques and features, The Galaxy was recognized as a finalist for Best Affordable Apartment Community and boasts ample amenity space including a state-of-the-art fitness center and clubroom with pool table, bar, flat screen TV, and lounge. Unit finishes include custom cabinetry, granite countertops, premium appliances, and private balconies and patios.

The Enclave at Emerson, part of the larger Emerson Planned Community, took home a win for Best Multifamily Community Site Plan. A luxury apartment and townhome community in close proximity to shopping and dining, the 99%-occupied Enclave offers the first and only rental homes in its county. Each home features open floor plans and sophisticated finishes, and building amenities include a 24-hour fitness center, a 5,500-square-foot clubhouse, a Wi-Fi business center, and more.

"It's an honor to be recognized by NAHB and our industry peers," said Keith Anderson, president of Clark Builders Group. "We approach every community we build with hard work and dedication to excellence, and these three projects are clearly representative of that philosophy."

The Pillars of the Industry awards are highly regarded among top-level multifamily development companies, management firms, and experts in the field. Judged by a jury of knowledgeable peers, the competition showcases the best communities and developments across the country.
