Clark Builders Group Completes Luxury Apartments in Potomac Yard

ALEXANDRIA, Va.—Last Friday Clark Builders Group (CBG) completed Bell Del Ray, a 276-unit luxury apartment complex with amenities and retail in Alexandria, Virginia. The project is part of The Exchange at Potomac Yard development, a multi-phase initiative to redevelop the former train yard located between Alexandria and Arlington.

Once occupied by one of the busiest rail yards on the East Coast, Potomac Yard laid vacant for more than two decades due to changes in the local train system. The land is now being developed as a part of The Exchange at Potomac Yard, a 1.9 million-square-foot community that will bridge Arlington and Alexandria through the construction of a town center, a new metro station, and extensive residential, office, hotel, and retail space. Bell Del Ray features 276 one- and two-bedroom apartments with premium finishes such as stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, custom espresso cabinets, and wood plank flooring. The community also brings 3,500 square feet of retail space to its Alexandria market.

The Bell Del Ray community features luxury amenities including a central courtyard with three resort-style swimming pools, outdoor lounges with fire pits, and an outdoor kitchen. Other community amenities include a 380-space parking garage, 24-hour fitness center with state-of-the-art cardio equipment and yoga space, a business center, a clubhouse, and game and media rooms. Premium conveniences include doorstep dry cleaning, valet trash, and in-house package services.

Bell Del Ray achieved the National Association of Home Builders' National Green Building Standard (NGBS) Bronze certification. The community's sustainable features include energy efficient appliances and equipment, storm water runoff management systems, and recycled waste during construction. The community's close proximity to bus and metro stops around Old Town Alexandria and Crystal City encourages residents to pursue a green and active lifestyle. In addition to Bell Del Ray, CBG is contributing three other mixed-use building projects to this development, including the newly completed Potomac Yard Town Center, and Landbay J and Notch 8, which are scheduled for completion in the summer of 2015.
