"We look forward to delivering 163 new apartment units and retail space to the Ballston submarket," said Chris Lukawski, Partner - Development & Construction for Crimson Partners. "Once complete, The Maxwell will offer some of the best-located apartments in the area. Residents will be just a short walk away from the Metro, Harris Teeter, Ballston Common Mall, and many other amenities."

Located at the intersection of Glebe Road and Carlin Springs Road and adjacent to CBG's Arlington headquarters, 650 North Glebe is a prime location for residents and retailers alike. The project will replace a Goodyear tire store and service center, and aid in the continuing development of Glebe Road as an attractive destination for shopping, dining, and working. The community is located within walking distance to the Ballston Metro station as well as numerous bus lines, and will provide convenient public and pedestrian transportation to its residents.

CBG was awarded the 650 North Glebe contract on February 25 and is working with developer Crimson Partners and architect KTGY Group, Inc. to bring the project to completion. The building's six stories include unit floor plans ranging from studios to two-bedrooms with lofts. Amenities will include a fitness room, lounge, courtyard, grills, and fire pit.

"CBG is very excited to take on this project," said Keith Anderson, president of Clark Builders Group. "Our team is looking forward to playing a role in the continual transformation of the commercial heart of Arlington through the delivery of 650 North Glebe Road."

Scheduled for completion in February 2014, the project is targeting LEED Silver certification. The community's sustainable features include a TPO roof to reduce heat island effect, brownfield redevelopment, water-efficient landscaping, and a construction waste diversion plan with a goal of 75% diversion from landfills to recycling facilities.
