Clark Builders Group Breaks Ground in H Street Corridor
WASHINGTON — Clark Builders Group and Steuart Investment Company celebrated the commencement of the 360° H Street project with a groundbreaking ceremony today. When complete, the new six-story, mixed-used apartment community in Northeast Washington, D.C. will offer 198 market rate apartments and 17 affordable units to a revitalized area of the nation's capital.

"360° H Street not only represents the building address, but also reflects the turnaround of the H Street corridor back into the lively area it used to be," said Guy Steuart, senior vice president of Steuart Investment Company. Situated just two blocks from Union Station and ten blocks from the U.S. Capitol, 360° H Street is a prime location for residents and retailers alike looking to become an active part of this up-and-coming community. The property will encompass two floors of below grade parking, 42,645 square feet of leasable retail area including a Giant Supermarket, and an elevated courtyard and amenity area on the second floor.The Giant Supermarket is slated to be H Street's first large-scale grocery store on the planned D.C. streetcars trolley route.
Building amenities include a social room and a fitness room, terraces on the second floor, and a 7,500-square-foot roof terrace. Torti Gallas Urban, Inc. designed the structure to earn LEED® certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Steuart Investment Company predicts welcoming new residents and retail tenants in the second quarter of 2013.

Local restaurants added H Street flavor to the groundbreaking ceremony, providing a sampling of catered fare. Remarks were made by Steuart, Mayor Vincent C. Gray, Ward 6 Councilmember Tommy Wells, and Chris Paridissis, Giant Food vice president of retail operations.
