WASHINGTON—CBG Building Company completed construction today on Willow & Maple, a 102-unit residential community near the Takoma Metro Station. The 94,688-square-foot project consists of two, wood-framed buildings comprising 99 units, three historically renovated single-family homes, and 92 surface parking spaces. "We are very excited about the successful completion of Willow & Maple," said Norman Jemal, principal and senior vice president at Douglas Development. "This is a project that we have been working to bring out of the ground for many years. With the creation of more than 100 high-quality residential units placed ideally between the metro and retail center, this project will prove to be a milestone for the revitalization of the historic Takoma Park area."

Willow & Maple's homes and apartments feature high-end finishes such as nine-foot ceilings, eight-foot solid core wood unit doors, stainless steel appliances, and glass railings. The amenity-rich community features a fitness room, club room, and bicycle storage.

As part of the project scope CBG also remodeled three early 20th century homes on site, restoring two and demolishing and rebuilding the third in compliance with District of Columbia Historic Preservation Review Board guidelines.

"CBG is thrilled to deliver this community with Douglas Development," said Keith Anderson, president of CBG. "We are proud of the integration of both renovation and new construction to provide a high-quality housing option within historic Takoma Park."

Located in the heart of Takoma Park, Willow & Maple is a five-minute walk from the Takoma Metro Station, granting convenient access to the greater Washington, D.C. area via the Red Line. The community is also within walking distance of local restaurants, cafes, and markets along Carroll Avenue, including Republic, La Mano Coffee Bar, and the Takoma Park Farmers Market.

CBG is currently constructing its second job for Douglas Development, 501 H Street in Northeast DC. The 28-unit, mixed-use community is scheduled for completion in September 2017 and will feature more than 20,000 square feet of retail among three levels.
