CBG Completes Luxury Community in Arlington’s Clarendon Neighborhood
ARLINGTON, Va.—CBG Building Company completed Ten at Clarendon today, a five-story, 143-unit luxury apartment community in the Clarendon neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia. Offering one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments, Ten at Clarendon also offers eight street-level live/work units designed for small business owners and entrepreneurs and 3,660 square feet of ground-floor retail.
Ten at Clarendon
"We are very excited about the successful completion of Ten at Clarendon," said Tracey Thomm, director of product development at CRC Companies. "The Ten is designed to create a space where residents can live and work collaboratively, as well as take advantage of the ample retail, dining, and recreation options that already exist in Clarendon."
CBG overcame several challenges to deliver Ten at Clarendon on schedule. The project was situated on a tight, 1.4-acre site under zero-lot-line conditions with bordering public roads and existing residences. CBG also encountered many existing utilities and different roadway profiles, which resulted in delays to communication infrastructure. To mitigate these challenges, CBG created a schedule and safety plan that allowed for construction of the building structure, including hoisting deliveries over standing utility lines, while simultaneously completing underground communications work.
"We are thrilled to work with CRC Companies and Bonstra | Haresign Architects to extend Clarendon's retail and residential options to the 10th Street North corridor," said Keith Anderson, president of CBG. "CBG is proud of the high-quality residential, retail, and communal spaces delivered, as well as the impact this project will have on the community where our headquarters are located."
Ten at Clarendon offers residents intriguing amenities such as a lending library, bike workshop, rooftop courtyard, outdoor patio with grilling areas, communal tables, study lounge, and exercise facility.
The community also includes a range of innovative technology features, such as keyless apartment entry, Nest thermostats for temperature control via mobile app, a video intercom system that allows residents to view and approve guests from their phones, and USB charging ports in each unit and in common-area furniture. The building is targeted for LEED Gold certification.
