CBG earned ABC’s Safety Training Evaluation Process (STEP) Safety Award for 13 consecutive years. As a Diamond-level STEP member, CBG is nearly six times safer than the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics industry average, achieving an 83% lower Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) with zero catastrophic incidents or lives lost.

"Our goals at CBG are to be a steward to the industry and to mentor our subcontractors along the way. Our safety program initiatives contribute to improved performance while reducing risk and the chance of loss," said Dan Blankfeld, CBG’s vice president of safety. "Our field management teams and safety professionals have decreased our Lost Time and Recordable Incident Rates to some of the lowest in our industry."

Contributing to CBG’s AQC designation across other areas of corporate responsibility, the company’s Training and Development program provides employees with opportunities that supplement on-the-job training and support individuals' career and educational goals. CBG encourages and sponsors professional and technical development, licenses and certifications, and continued learning.

Inclusive workplace initiatives, such as the Women of CBG network, promote diversity and professional growth among employees. CBG consistently hires more women and ethnically/racially diverse employees than industry averages1, with 44% of women and 27% of men being ethnically or racially diverse, including half of recent hires. CBG implements programs that complement its culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion through an environment of teamwork, innovation, advocacy, advancement, and support.

In addition to its internal initiatives, CBG’s involvement in various charitable causes and partnerships with local organizations demonstrates its commitment to building positive community impact. Over the past 20+ years, CBG has donated more than $6.6 million to 620 charitable organizations and has built more than 40 affordable housing communities nationwide. CBG has also collaborated on more than $1 billion in work to date with local, small, and disadvantaged businesses that are qualified in First Source, CBE, M/WBE, SBE, MOU, and/or other programs, and mentors eligible firms in need of assistance in obtaining qualifications or work.
