ARLINGTON, Va.—CBG Building Company broke ground today on 10th Street Flats, a 143-unit, five-story, mixed-use community near the Clarendon Metro Station. "Together with the community, Arlington County, and our design team, we have developed the most current and relevant lifestyle building for today's renters," said Casey Nolan, director at CRC. "Our customers are experiencing technology innovations, lifestyle shifts, and evolutions in working styles, and we have responded with a development that allows them to enjoy and leverage these changes to the fullest."

Situated on a tight, 1.4-acre site under zero-lot-line conditions with bordering public roads and existing homes and offices, 10th Street Flats will comprise four floors of wood over a concrete podium with a facade of brick and wood composite, fiber cement, and metal panels. The community will feature a curtain wall window system, which will extend the height of the building in the bays, and two floors of underground parking to serve residential, retail, and office tenants.

"We are excited to begin work on 10th Street Flats for CRC Companies," said Keith Anderson, president of CBG. "The result of months of design/build collaboration, this dynamic project will be a strong addition to the Clarendon market."

10th Street Flats is scheduled for completion in September 2017. The amenity-rich community will include a rooftop lounge, outdoor kitchen, ground-floor bike workshop, fitness center and yoga room, teleworking space, eight innovative live/work units, and 3,700 square feet of retail space. All studio, one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments will feature luxury finishes such as stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, and wood-surface flooring. The community will also include 4,700 square feet of office space owned by local non-profit Bridges to Independence (b2i).

Situated in downtown Clarendon, 10th Street Flats is walking distance to the Clarendon Metro Station and several Capital Bikeshare stations. The LEED Gold, transit-oriented community will offer one bicycle storage spot per unit, on-site electric vehicle charging stations, and Nest thermostats for energy-saving, Wi-Fi enabled temperature control capabilities.

10th Street Flats will mark CBG's 34th project to earn LEED certification.Other recent LEED certified projects include: Ovation at Park Crest, a 300-unit high rise community in McLean, VA; The Maxwell, a 163-unit mixed-use community in Arlington, VA; and The Pierce, a mixed-use luxury community in San Jose, CA.
