The Post Park community is a 396-unit apartment complex comprised of nine interconnected buildings in Hyattsville, MD. At Post Park, part of the site development package included remedial work to reconstruct a stream bed and stabilize the flood plain to the Northwest Branch waterway that empties into the Anacostia River and the Chesapeake Bay. The project team re-graded and contoured the badly eroded spillway with topsoil and rock from the stream, and introduced stabilizing sandbag and stone diversions with vegetation to dissipate the water flow. In addition, the project team introduced several species of grasses, shrubs and trees to re-vegetate the areas disturbed during the restructuring of the flood plain.
