Building Green at Marine Corps Base Quantico Family Housing
The project used recycled concrete from demolition for road sub-grade and mass fills. CBG also designed and tested all new units to ensure they met or exceeded EnergyStar® standards, including R-19 wall insulation and high-efficiency furnaces and water heaters. In addition, CBG preserved and repurposed 70-year-old apartments on base, converting them into three-story townhomes with garages while maintaining their original brick and masonry facade and slate roofs. Incorporating innovative construction techniques, the team successfully repositioned this significant piece of base architecture.
