The US Army, Fort Benning, and Clark Realty Capital worked together to plan, develop, construct, and manage military family housing communities for Fort Benning and Camp Frank D. Merrill in Georgia. The initial 10-year development plan at Fort Benning included the demolition and replacement of 1,683 homes and the refurbishment of 2,316 existing homes, of which 500 are historically significant.
Fort Benning Family Housing includes the first EnergyStar®-certified home in Georgia. Casa Verde was a pilot project designed to build sustainable features into a previously designed home. By instituting energy-efficient features such as dual-flush toilets, low-flow aerators on faucets, insulation, EnergyStar® thermostats, and recycled building materials, Casa Verde was awarded LEED® Silver for Homes, a first for a CBG single-family home.
