The Bolling AFB Family Housing project consisted of the demolition of 792 existing units and the construction of 119 new homes, as well as renovations to 47 Historic and Non-Historic homes. The new housing consists of 41 General Officer Quarters homes along the Potomac River, 78 Field Grade Officer homes, a Welcome Center, a splash park with green space, and a maintenance building. The homes were constructed in the Colonial Revival and Georgian style building types. The renovation scope consisted of 24 historic restorations and 23 non-historic units.
Building Green at Bolling Air Force Base Family Housing
At Bolling Air Force Base, the project team utilized crushed asphalt and concrete materials from demolition of existing homes and infrastructure as structural backfill material onsite. In addition, the team salvaged, refurbished, and re-used old electrical transformers for new housing.
