900 Thayer is a 124-unit mixed-use community with market-rate and affordable units, retail, and restaurant space. Indoor and outdoor amenities include a rooftop terrace with a fountain, bike storage, and common gathering spaces. The project abuts an existing building and requires the undergrounding of overhead power and low-voltage lines on two sides of the site. The community targets LEED® Silver and EnergyStar® certifications.
900 Thayer is design to achieve LEED® Silver and EnergyStar® certification. Among the project's sustainable features are numerous micro-bioretention planters and a construction-waste plan diverting 75% waste from landfills to recycling facilities. The smoke-free building will enact a Construction Indoor Air Quality Plan using ducts that protect from dust and dirt intrusion. 900 Thayer will utilize low VOC paints, adhesives, mastics, and glue, and low-flow plumbing fixtures. The community is designed to be pedestrian friendly and will include bike storage for sustainable transportation.
