Clark Builders Group Breaks Ground on Brightview Assisted Living Community
Convenience, Functionality, and Green Living will Foster Comfortable Aging in Fairfax County
For immediate release
July 15, 2014
Brightview Woodburn will offer residents independent living, assisted living, personal care, and Alzheimer's care options. The 7,400-square-foot, four-story community will include economy-sized studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments. Twenty-six of the units will be reserved for residents with memory impairment, featuring additional suites for live-in care providers and specialized safety features.
"In partnership with CBG, we are creating a great place for seniors to live and a great place to work," explained Dan Rexford, vice president of Brightview Senior Living. "We can't wait until the community springs to life, and is filled with friends and family."
The development is constructed to seamlessly integrate in-house care with private and personalized apartment units. Designed as economy units, the apartments average 500 square feet and feature kitchenettes in lieu of full-sized kitchens. This layout is meant to simplify the living space for residents and encourage the use of Brightview Woodburn's ample amenities including a library, salon, pub, and numerous outdoor patios, all of which are specifically geared towards the interests and needs of its senior citizen residents. In addition, the community will provide on-site physical therapy facilities and a communal living space where residents can receive each meal.
Designed by architecture firm Hord, Coplan, Macht, Inc., Brightview Woodburn will embody the mid-century modern style that echoes the neighboring Holmes Run Acres community where the development is located. The community will include 63 surface parking spaces and numerous outdoor patios featuring extensive hardscaping and landscaping for residents to enjoy.
"We are very excited to be building Brightview Woodburn," said CBG president Keith Anderson. "The design team has worked to tailor the facilities to the needs of the residents, and has ensured that the complex supports the functions of an assisted living community that caters to seniors at all levels of care while still maintaining the comfort and familiarity of home."
Brightview Woodburn is targeting LEED® Silver certification by incorporating numerous environmentally-minded elements into its construction such as the use of regional materials, an energy-efficient building mechanical system, and a storm water runoff management system.
